Understanding Fascia

The fascial system is the connective tissue that runs continuously throughout your body, head to toes.

Over time, the fascia can become restricted due to dehydration, trauma, surgery, microtraumas, or injuries

These restrictions prevent our bodies from staying in alignment and moving with, ease as we were designed.

Myofascial Release is a gentle, hands-on approach where clinicians apply sustained pressure to allow for changes in your fascial system.

These changes help to improve your alignment, posture, decreased pain, and ease of movements

FAQ

1. Where are you located?

We are located at 80 Grace Drive, Suite 3C in Powell, Ohio. Not far from the Post office

2. What should I expect from my first appointment?

Your first visit will begin with getting to know you, how the injury and/or your symptoms are impacting you, any pertinent medical history. I want to know the goals you would like to set for yourself. From there I will do a full postural analysis to determine where and how to begin making changes and help you get started with the journey of healing.

3. What should I wear?

Treatment is best done on skin. Most patients will wear loose shorts and a sports bra. Tank tops with loose shorts work well too if you prefer to cover up a bit more. Please avoid using creams, lotions or oils in your skin prior to your appointment, and remove jewelry and watches.

4. What should I expect after my first appointment?

By the end of your first visit you will have answers on why you're experiencing pain or discomfort, what the root issue is, a personalized program to work on to start making progress right away, and a clear game plan on how, together, we'll get you back on the path of doing the activities you love free of discomfort!

5. How long will it take?

Your plan of care varies from patient to patient. Generally, treatment is done in 3 phases

1st we work on lengthening and releasing the restricted tissue, imbalances in the body and dealing with breaking up pain patterns

2nd we work on strengthening muscle and readjusting the tissue for optimal function

Finally we get you back to activity, free of pain, discomfort, or symptoms

6. How Often will I come?

Patients typically come once a week for the first few weeks, slowly phasing out to shorter frequencies as symptoms are resolved. That being said, every case is individualized and we will come up with a plan together.

7. Will I need a doctor referral?

Ohio does not require a physician’s prescription to start our treatment, however, your insurance company will require a prescription from your physician. If you are planning to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, they will require a prescription from your physician for physical therapy that also includes the ICD 10 codes associated with your diagnosis.

8. Do you take my insurance?

I am out of network with most insurances, because unfortunately they don't let me work with clients the way I've found to be the most successful. With that being said, all of our patients have health insurance. Patients pay me with HSA and Flex account cards, regular credit cards, cash and check. What we do is to provide a superbill or special receipt that has all the information needed to submit to your insurance. You must check with your insurance company to determine your “out of network benefits” for physical therapy, and their procedures. We are unable to guarantee any specific reimbursement.

10. What is your cancelation policy?

All Clients must accept and agree to our reschedule policy - as failure to attend scheduled appointments not only disrupts your treatment progress, but also limits another patient's progress who may have been able to attend in your place.

Cancellations with less than 48-hour notice will result in 50% of your session charges, and failure to attend your appointment (no show) will require the 100% of your session charges.
